Section 45-37A-240.01 Prisoner transport fee. (a)(1) Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the Municipal Court of the City of Hoover, Alabama, may assess a prisoner transport fee against a defendant for expenses incurred in transporting the defendant on a Hoover Municipal Court misdemeanor warrant from another municipal jail, county jail, or a state detention facility to the Hoover Municipal Detention Facility. (2) The fee provided in this section may be assessed in all criminal cases by the municipal judge when a transport is required as described in subdivision (1), and may be collected only when a defendant is adjudicated guilty or pleads guilty on or after May 24, 2005. Section 13A-6-181 Fines; counseling or educational training programs; pretrial diversion program. (a)(1) Notwithstanding any other fines, restitution, court costs, or docket fees, upon conviction for the offense of promoting prostitution under Division 1 of Article 3 of Chapter 12, or a violation of subsection (b) or (d) of Section 13A-12-121, a mandatory fine of five hundred dollars ($500) shall be assessed. PRETRIAL DIVERSION PROGRAM or PROGRAM. A voluntary option that allows an offender, upon advice of counsel or where counsel is waived in a judicial process, to knowingly agree to the imposition by the district attorney of certain conditions of behavior and conduct for a specified period of time upon the offender which would allow the offender to have his or her charges reduced, dismissed without prejudice, or otherwise mitigated, should all conditions be satisfied during the time frame set by the district attorney as provided in the agreement.
