Section 45-37A-351 Special school district tax. The following words and phrases used in this section and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of a clear implication herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) AMENDMENT 316. That certain amendment to the constitution that was proposed by Act 509 enacted at the 1971 Regular Session of the Legislature of Alabama. (2) AMENDMENT 373. Section 45-5-247 Levy of tax authorized. (a) In addition to all other taxes of every kind now imposed by law, the Blount County Commission may levy a privilege or license tax upon every person, firm, or corporation engaging in the business of renting or furnishing any room or rooms, lodging, or accommodations to a transient in any hotel, motel, inn, tourist camp, tourist cabin, or any other place in which rooms, lodgings, or accommodations are regularly furnished to transients for a consideration.
