Section 45-32-246.01 Levy of tax. The Greene County Commission shall levy a special privilege
or license tax as follows: (1) Upon every person, firm, or corporation engaged or continuing
within Greene County in the business of selling at retail any tangible personal property whatsoever,
including merchandise and commodities of every kind and character, not including, however,
bonds or other evidence of debt or stocks, an amount equal to one percent of the gross proceeds
of sales of the business except where a different amount is expressly provided herein. Any
person engaging or continuing in business as a retailer and wholesaler or jobber shall pay
the tax required on the gross proceeds of retail sales of such businesses at the rates specified,
when his or her books are kept so as to show separately the gross proceeds of sales of each
business, and when his or her books are not so kept he or she shall pay the tax as retailer,

Section 45-37-243.06 Records; inspection. (a) It shall be the duty of any person subject to
the license tax imposed by this subpart to keep full and complete records of all purchases
and of all other matters from which the correct amount of license tax to which such person
is subject may be ascertained; and in the event that such person shall discontinue his or

Section 45-44-246.01 Additional tax. (a)(1) The Macon County Commission may impose on every
person, firm, or corporation that sells, stores, delivers, uses, or otherwise consumes tobacco

Section 45-5-247 Levy of tax authorized. (a) In addition to all other taxes of every kind now
imposed by law, the Blount County Commission may levy a privilege or license tax upon every
person, firm, or corporation engaging in the business of renting or furnishing any room or
rooms, lodging, or accommodations to a transient in any hotel, motel, inn, tourist camp, tourist
cabin, or any other place in which rooms, lodgings, or accommodations are regularly furnished
to transients for a consideration. The amount of the tax shall be equal to four percent of

Section 40-12-172 Transient dealers. Each person doing business as a transient dealer as defined
in this section and who does not pay the privilege license under Section 40-12-73 or the license
permit under Section 40-25-19 shall pay an annual license tax to the state of $30. The payment
