Section 45-33-70 Expense allowance. Each member of the Hale County Commission shall receive an expense allowance in the amount necessary to bring the total annual compensation, including salary and expense allowances, to the amount of fourteen thousand six hundred dollars ($14,600). In order that Franklin County might be able to purchase and maintain a unified and modern computerized system for county records, the proceeds from that fee prescribed in Section 40-4-5, to be limited to one dollar thirty-five cents ($1.35) per transaction, on transactions performed by the county tax assessor shall be distributed annually as follows: (1) The first thirty-five cents ($.35) of such proceeds shall go into the county general fund for the needs as determined by the county commission. (a) In Jefferson County, in addition to all other taxes imposed by law, there is hereby levied an additional privilege or license tax, in the amount hereinafter prescribed against any person, organization, or other entity engaging or continuing in the county in the business of leasing or renting any passenger automotive vehicle, the duration of the lease being not more than one year.
