Section 45-37-230.02 Replacement of clothing or equipment. The court of county commissioners, board of revenue, or other like governing body of any county having a population of more than 600,000 according to the 1970 or any subsequent federal decennial census, may appropriate county funds to pay the actual cost of replacing any clothing or equipment of a deputy sheriff, probation officer, or juvenile detention officer of the county that is damaged or destroyed while such officer is engaged in the performance of his or her official duties and acting within the line and scope of his or her authority.
