Section 45-37A-53.01 Keeping of dogs in certain vacant lots. (a) In any city with a population of 300,000 inhabitants or more, according to the 1970 or any subsequent federal decennial census, no person shall put any dog or dogs in a vacant lot which is not adjacent or contiguous to his or her residence. (b) This section shall not apply to any person who is a licensed veterinarian operating his or her business in an area zoned therefor; nor shall this section apply to any person using dogs to guard his or her business. (c) The county health department is authorized to promulgate and enforce any reasonable rules and regulations necessary to implement this section.
