Section 45-37A-52.95 Powers and duties. The mayor shall be the head of the administrative
branch of the city government. The mayor shall not sit with the council nor shall he or she
have a vote in its proceedings and he or she shall have the power and duties herein conferred.

Section 45-47-231.32 Removal, discharge, or demotion of merit employees. (a)(1) The
governing body of the county or a municipality, or the head of any department or office, can
remove, discharge, or demote any merit employee who is directly under such governing body,
or department head, provided that within five days a report in writing of such action is made
to the board, giving the reason for such removal, discharge, or demotion. The employee shall
have 10 days from the time of his or her notification of his or her removal, discharge, or
demotion in which to appeal to the board. If such appeal is filed, the board shall thereupon
order the charges or complaint to be filed forthwith in writing, if not already filed, and

Section 11-91A-4 Transfer of responsibility and control of program; membership of board.
(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 36-29-14, the board shall have exclusive
responsibility and control over the program as of 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2015. In order
to make proper preparation to assume all responsibility and control for the program effective
at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2015, the board shall be in place no later than September 1, 2014,
and shall hold its organizational meeting no later than October 1, 2014. The SEIB shall be

three or more counties or portions thereof, there shall be created an advisory committee to

Section 15-18-179 Application for incorporation; certificate of incorporation; amendment;
board of directors; dissolution; funding; competitive bidding laws not applicable. (a) A public
corporation may be organized as a community punishment and corrections authority pursuant
to this article in any county or group of counties located in one or more judicial circuits.

the Alabama Real Estate Appraisers Board. The board shall consist of nine members, one of
