Section 36-21-8.1 Badge provided for officer killed or disabled in line of duty. (a) Any peace officer or law enforcement officer as defined by subsection (4) of Section 36-21-40, who is killed in the line of duty shall have provided to the deceased officer's survivor, as determined by the deceased officer's department head, the badge which was assigned to said officer at the time of his death.
