Section 45-37A-100.02 Definitions. As used in this article, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) CITY. The City of Center Point, Alabama. (2) CIVIL VIOLATION. A violation of the ordinance authorized by this article, the penalty for which violation shall be the payment of a fine, the enforcement of which will not be otherwise permissible. (3) FINE. The monetary amount assessed by the City of Center Point pursuant to the ordinance authorized by this article for a determination of civil liability for a traffic signal violation, stop sign violation, or speeding violation, which may include administrative hearing costs associated with the infraction. (4) OWNER. The owner of a motor vehicle as shown on the motor vehicle registration records of the Alabama Department of Revenue or the analogous department or agency of another state or nation. Section 45-39-200.16 Additional fees for mailing expenses. The commissioner shall charge and collect a reasonable fee which is adequate to cover the necessary handling, packaging, and mailing expenses for each motor vehicle tag issued by mail, in addition to all other fees prescribed by law. The additional fees shall be paid by the owner of the motor vehicle with his or her mailed request for license tags and the fees collected by the commissioner shall be paid into the general fund of the county. Section 32-6-360 Issuance of license tag or plate; fees. (a) An active member of the Fraternal Order of Police who is the owner of a motor vehicle or a motorcycle and a resident of the state may be issued a license tag or plate bearing the words "Fraternal Order of Police" across the top portion of the tag or plate upon which, in lieu of the numbers prescribed by law, shall be inscribed distinctive words or marks provided by the Department of Revenue. Section 32-6-58 Applicants for registration must furnish proof of paying certain federal taxes. Section 32-6-59.1 Distinctive motorcycle plates. (a) Residents of Alabama who qualify to obtain a distinctive license plate pursuant to this chapter 6 may be issued a distinctive motorcycle license plate in the license plate category for which they qualify.
