Section 11-49B-6 Board of directors. (a) Each authority shall be governed by a board of directors. All powers of the authority shall be exercised by the board or pursuant to its authorization. The board shall initially be composed of 10 directors, but may be increased to a maximum of 15 directors if additional counties join the regional system. The directors of the authority shall be appointed as follows: (1) The president of the county commission in the county where the authority is organized shall appoint three members of the board of directors for the county commission with one appointee being an elected county official.
