Section 45-35A-51.01 Definitions. The following words, terms, and phrases, wherever used in this part, shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to them in this section, unless the context plainly indicates a different meaning: (1) APPOINTING AUTHORITY. A department head. (2) BOARD. The personnel board herein authorized. (3) CLASSIFIED SERVICE. Section 45-49-120.07 Personnel director. The board shall elect and fix the salary of the director who shall hold office at the will of the board. The board shall prescribe qualifications as to residence, education, and experience as may be necessary in its opinion to fill the position of director. (a) After consultation with appointing authorities, or other officers, or both, the director shall prepare and recommend to the board a pay plan for all employees in the classified service.
