Section 45-37A-52.32 Powers of city. The city shall have all the powers granted to municipal corporations and to cities by the constitution and laws of this state together with all the implied powers necessary to carry into execution all the powers granted. (a) Beginning with the municipal elections in 2002, a school board for the City of Bessemer, Alabama, is established and shall be elected in 2002, and every four years thereafter. The board shall be called the Bessemer City Board of Education.
