Section 45-37-243.03 Rulemaking authority; powers. The board of revenue, county commission,
or like governing body of such counties shall have power to adopt reasonable rules and regulations
not inconsistent with this subpart to provide for the enforcement, collection, and distribution
of the tax, and to provide for the possession and sale, from bottles with broken seals, of
cordials, liquers, vermouth, wines, rum, and brandy that are not available for purchase in
miniature through state Alcoholic Beverage Control Stores. The judge of probate, license commissioner,
director of county department of revenue, or other public officer performing like duties in

Section 45-37A-152 Ad valorem taxes authorized. (a) The governing body of the City of Fairfield
in Jefferson County may levy and collect an additional ad valorem tax at a rate not exceeding
15 mills per each dollar on the value of the taxable property within the city, the proceeds
of which tax shall be used exclusively for public educational purposes, provided the rate
of such tax, the time it is to continue, and the purpose thereof shall have been first submitted
to a vote of the qualified electors of the City of Fairfield and voted for by a majority of
those voting at such election. The additional taxes levied and imposed by this section shall
become effective October 1, 1986, upon referendum approved by a majority of the qualified
electors of the municipality, called by the municipal governing body at the next special,

Section 45-44-244.31 Authorization to levy tax; payment; amount. In addition to any and all
other taxes or fees heretofore or hereafter levied in Macon County, the Macon County Commission
may levy a payroll or privilege fee upon any person who performs a trade, occupation, or profession
in those areas of the county not subject to an occupation tax on the effective date of the
act adding this language. If any area is not subject to an occupational tax on the effective
date of the act adding this language and the area is annexed into a municipality and becomes
subject to a municipal occupational tax, any payroll or privilege fee levied pursuant to this
section shall continue to apply in the annexed area notwithstanding any other provision of

profession within those areas of the county on or after the first day of January 1998, without

Section 45-44-244 Authorization to levy tax; referendum. (a) If first approved by a majority
of the qualified electors of Macon County who vote thereon at a referendum election held for
that purpose, the court of county commissioners, board of revenue, or other like governing
body of Macon County may by ordinance or resolution, levy and impose a county license tax
or fee upon any person who engages in or follows any trade, occupation, or profession, as
defined in this subpart, which license tax or fee shall be measured by one percent of the

Section 45-49-151.14 Tax due on pari-mutuel pools; distribution of contributions; capital improvement
fund. (a) Every licensee conducting race meetings pursuant to this subpart shall pay to the
racing commission for its use, a tax on the total contributions to all pari-mutuel pools conducted
or made on a racetrack licensed under this subpart in an amount equal to eight percent until
April 17, 1992, and seven percent thereafter. Except as otherwise provided in this subpart,
the commission of a licensee on a pari-mutuel pool shall not exceed 19 percent of the amount
contributed to the pari-mutuel pool, including the tax provided in this section. In addition
to the 19 percent commission authorized to be withheld from pari-mutuel pools, the licensee

taxes. (a) Every person, firm, or corporation residing in or owning a motor vehicle which
is principally used in Coffee County who desires to operate a motor vehicle on the public
