Section 45-47-244 Authorization to levy tax; collection; disposition of (a) The Marion County Commission is hereby authorized to levy and impose in the county, in addition to all other taxes of every kind now imposed by law and to collect as herein provided, a privilege or license tax on the sale of any automotive vehicle, truck trailer, semitrailer, and house trailer required to be registered or licensed with the Marion County Judge of Probate and purchased other than at wholesale in the county from any person, firm, or corporation which is not a licensed dealer engaged in selling automotive vehicles, truck trailers, semitrailers, or house trailers an amount equal to one and one-half percent of the purchase price. Section 11-3-60 Use of credit or debit cards issued to county commission for certain purchases; rewards or rebates. (a) For the purposes of this article, the following words shall have the following meanings: (1) CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER. There is hereby created the Alabama Transportation Safety Fund in the State Treasury. All proceeds from the revenues designated to the fund less the cost of collection authorized by law shall be deposited into the fund to be expended only as provided in this article. Section 45-12-241.01 Privilege license tax for mandatory solid waste disposal program. (a) This section shall only apply to Choctaw County. (b) As used in this section, state sales and use tax means the tax imposed by the state sales and use tax statutes, including, but not limited to, Sections 40-23-1, 40-23-2, 40-23-3, 40-23-4, 40-23-60, 40-23-61, 40-23-62, and 40-23-63 of the Code of Alabama 1975. Funds paid to the county firefighters and rescue squad association, to be distributed to volunteer fire departments and emergency medical service squads, shall only be expended for fire protection and emergency medical services, including training, supplies, and equipment. (a) Any gas system operated by any investor-owned company, city, county, municipality, or public gas district which comes under the supervision of the commission for the purpose of enforcing the gas pipeline safety requirements of this article, shall pay annually on October first of each year an inspection fee to the commission of $.50 per active service line for the previous calendar year ending December 31, for each active service line in said system.
