Section 14-4-5 Record of convicts to be kept by probate judge. The county commission shall provide a well-bound book to be kept in the office of the judge of probate subject, during office hours, to the inspection of the public, in which he shall enter the name of each convict sentenced to hard labor for the county, the place where the convict is to labor and the length of sentence. He shall also keep a record of the convicts sentenced to the penitentiary showing the name, the offense of which he was convicted and the date and termination of his sentence.
