Section 45-35-160.01 Payments by credit card. (a)(1) The use of credit cards for any
payments made to a Houston County department, agency, board, or commission may be authorized
upon approval by the Houston County Commission as provided in subsection (b), and if authorized,
shall be accepted pursuant to rules and regulations promulgated by the Houston County Commission.
The rules and regulations shall include specific procedures for the acceptance of credit card
payments, including, but not limited to, provision for the payment of any discount or administrative
fee charged by the credit card issuer. The Houston County Commission may impose the assessment
of a surcharge or convenience fee from the person paying by credit card in an amount not greater
than the transaction fee charged by the credit card issuer. (2) Except as otherwise provided,

Section 45-49-160.04 Payments by credit card. (a) For purposes of this section,
the term credit card includes any credit card, charge card, or debit card issued by any bank,
foreign lender, domestic lender, or credit card bank as defined in Section 5-20-3.

Section 45-34-82.07 Costs and fees. (a) An applicant shall be assessed a fee when the
applicant is approved for the program. The amount of the assessment for participation in the
program shall be in addition to any court costs and assessments for victims or drug, alcohol,
or anger management treatment required by law, and are in addition to costs of supervision,
treatment, and restitution for which the person may be responsible. Pretrial diversion program
fees as established by this part may be waived or reduced for just cause at the discretion
of the district attorney. A schedule of payments for any of these fees may be established

Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a)
As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them
as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR. Any natural person, partnership, company, firm, corporation, association,
limited liability company, cooperative, or other legal entity licensed by the Alabama State

Section 11-103-3 Liability for final payment. (a) When a party elects to make a payment
to a county or municipal agency, office, department, board, or commission by credit card and
a surcharge or convenience fee is imposed, the payment of the surcharge or convenience fee
shall not be refundable. (b) No person making payment to any county or municipal agency, office,
department, board, or commission by credit card shall be relieved from liability for the face

Section 45-35-232.32 Houston County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission. (a)
There is created the Houston County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission, hereinafter
called the commission. The commission shall be composed of seven persons, including the following:

Section 11-103-2 Agreements with credit card issuers, etc. The county commission or
municipal governing body may enter into appropriate agreements with one or more credit card
issuers or other appropriate parties as needed to facilitate the acceptance of credit card
payments, provided that no agreement may provide for the receipt of payments at a discount
from the amount that would be owed were credit cards not accepted for the payment or withholding
of administrative fees from the actual amount of the payments. Except as otherwise specifically
provided, the provisions of the competitive bid law found in Section 41-16-1 et seq.,
shall not apply to the agreements between the county commission or municipal governing body
