Section 45-35-120 Definitions. The following words, terms, and phrases, wherever used herein, shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, and shall include the singular as well as the plural: (1) ALLOCATION. With the discretion of the director of personnel, vacancies in positions shall be filled, in so far as practicable by promotion from among employees holding positions in the classified service.
