Section 45-17A-50.01 Definitions. As used in this part, unless the context indicates otherwise, the following words, terms, and phrases shall have the meanings ascribed to them: (1) APPOINTING AUTHORITY. With the discretion of the director of personnel, vacancies in positions shall be filled, in so far as practicable by promotion from among employees holding positions in the classified service.
