Section 45-49-40.18 Enforcement of other sanitation provisions; employment of maid or porter;
penalties; oath of commissioners. (a) Nothing contained in this part shall be construed to
prevent the Department of Public Health or any local board of health or other board or body,
exercising the powers of such local boards, from enacting and enforcing ordinances, codes,
rules, and regulations pertaining to sanitation in barber shops, in excess of this part, for
which authority they have been or may be granted by law. (b) No owner or manager of a barber
shop or barber college shall employ any person as a maid or porter unless the person has on
file a health certificate signed by a licensed practicing physician stating that the employee
is free from any communicable or contagious disease or from a venereal disease. (c) Any person
violating this part shall upon conviction be punished by a fine or not less that fifty dollars

Section 45-8-120.16 Open meetings and hearings of board. All meetings and hearings of the board
shall be open to the public. Notwithstanding the foregoing, when the good name and character
of an individual is to be discussed by the board at one of its meetings, or a written waiver
of public hearing signed by the affected employee, the appointing authority, or the citizen
complainant, as the case may be, is filed with the board, the board may, by majority vote

Section 40-10-28 Disposition of excess arising from sale. (a)(1) The excess arising from the
sale of any real estate remaining after paying the amount of the decree of sale, including
costs and expenses subsequently accruing, shall be paid over to a person or entity who has
redeemed the property as authorized in Section 40-10-120 or any other provisions of Alabama
law authorizing redemption from a tax sale, provided proof that the person or entity requesting
payment of the excess has properly redeemed the property is presented to the county commission
within three years after the tax sale has occurred. The county commission may retain any interest

a barbers license, apprentice barbers license, barber teacher license, scalp specialist license,
or a license to operate a barber shop or barbers college, or other like business, shall apply
