Section 32-1-1.1 Definitions. The following words and phrases when used in this title, for the purpose of this title, shall have meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, except when the context otherwise requires: (1) ALLEY. A street or highway intended to provide access to the rear or side of lots or buildings in urban districts and not intended for the purpose of through vehicular traffic. (2) ARTERIAL STREET. Any United States or state numbered route, controlled-access highway, or other major radial or circumferential street or highway designated by local authorities within their respective jurisdictions as part of a major arterial system of streets or highways. (3) AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLE. Such fire department vehicles, police vehicles, and ambulances as are publicly owned, and such other publicly or privately owned vehicles as are designated by the Secretary of the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency or the chief of police of an incorporated city. Section 32-5A-191.4 Ignition interlock devices. (a) As used in Section 32-5A-191, the term, "ignition interlock device" means a constant monitoring device that prevents a motor vehicle from being started at any time without first determining the equivalent blood alcohol level of the operator through the taking of a breath sample for testing. The system shall be calibrated so that the motor vehicle may not be started if the blood alcohol level of the operator, as measured by the test, reaches a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.02. (b) The ignition interlock device shall be installed, calibrated, and monitored directly by trained technicians who shall train the offender for whom the device is being installed in the proper use of the device. Section 12-17-226.10 Written agreement; other terms and conditions. (a) In any case in which an offender is admitted into a pretrial diversion program established under this division, there shall be a written agreement between the district attorney and the offender. The agreement shall include the terms of the pretrial diversion program, the length of the program, as practicable as possible, the costs of the program to the offender, and the period of time after which the district attorney must dispose of the charges against the offender. Section 22-19-161 Definitions. In this article: (1) "Adult" means an individual who is at least 18 years of age. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation. Section 9-11-413 License fee; issuance of license; license to operate a commercial bird hunting preserve. (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), the privilege license fee for operating a hunting preserve shall be twenty-five dollars ($25) per year for the first 100 acres of hunting preserve area plus five dollars ($5) per year for each additional 100 acres or part thereof. Section 45-44-170.05 Enforcement; fines. (a) The operation of an unlicensed junkyard that is required to be licensed pursuant to this section constitutes a public nuisance. (b) The Macon County Commission shall adopt regulations and requirements for issuing licenses for the operation of junkyards within the limits defined in this article and may revoke the licenses at any time the junkyard fails to conform to the requirements of this article, and shall charge a license fee of not more than five hundred dollars ($500) and not less than one hundred dollars ($100) payable each fiscal year.
