Section 22-30-16 Responsibilities of hazardous waste storage and treatment facility
and hazardous waste disposal site operators. (a) The department, acting through the commission,
is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations establishing such standards, applicable
to owners and operators of hazardous waste treatment, storage or disposal facilities as may
be necessary to protect human health or the environment. In establishing such standards, the
department may, where appropriate, distinguish in such standards between requirements appropriate
for new facilities and for facilities in existence on the date of promulgation of such regulations.
Such standards shall include but not be limited to the following: (1) Unless exempted from
regulation by this chapter or rules promulgated under authority of this chapter, obtaining
a permit from the department or interim status for each treatment, storage or disposal facility;

Section 45-9-170.40 Noise control. (a) This section applies in Chambers County.
(b) The county commission may promulgate rules and regulations limiting and controlling noise
in public places and establishments. A violation of the rules and regulations shall constitute
a public nuisance. The county, after a due process hearing, may impose civil penalties upon
persons violating the rules or regulations on noise, which have been imposed by the county
commission. The civil penalties shall be payable at a place and pursuant to procedures adopted
by the county commission, including procedures for due process. (c) The sheriff and other

Section 22-27-6 Authority to adopt resolution or ordinance; rules and regulations; noncompliance

or ordinance provide for the orderly collection of fees charged under the provisions of this

The Colbert County Community Development Commission is hereby created. The commission may
receive and by majority vote distribute any funds in the Community Development Fund created

using wire baskets. (a) The Director of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources

Section 45-35-160.01 Payments by credit card. (a)(1) The use of credit cards for any
payments made to a Houston County department, agency, board, or commission may be authorized
upon approval by the Houston County Commission as provided in subsection (b), and if authorized,
shall be accepted pursuant to rules and regulations promulgated by the Houston County Commission.
The rules and regulations shall include specific procedures for the acceptance of credit card
