Section 45-32-180 Construction and maintenance of roads or driveways. (a) The County Commission of Greene County is hereby authorized and empowered to construct and maintain any road or driveway, exclusive of bridges, leading from a public road to the residence of an abutting landowner for a distance of one-fourth of a mile. (b) The actual cost of operating and constructing the road or driveway shall be borne and paid by the homeowner. The county governing body is hereby authorized and empowered to require the posting of a cash bond to insure the payment of such actual cost. The county governing body may, in its discretion, provide normal maintenance at county expense on any road or driveway, exclusive of bridges, leading from a public road to the residence of an abutting homeowner for a distance of one-fourth of a mile. Section 45-8-72 Subdivision streets and roads; minimum standards. (a) This section shall apply only to Calhoun County. (b) There is hereby created a cause of action against subdividers of land who fail to construct roads and streets within their subdivisions in conformity with minimum standards established by the county commission.
