Section 45-23-60.01 Salary, benefits, and expenses. (a) The Coroner of Dale County shall continue to receive a salary of five hundred dollars ($500) per month which shall be paid from the General Fund of Dale County subject to subsection (b). (b) The coroner shall be entitled to receive an unvouchered allowance for expenses in the amount of seven hundred fifteen dollars ($715) per month to be paid from the general fund of the county. The expense allowance provided in this section shall be in addition to any other allowance or compensation provided for by law. Effective beginning the next term of office, the salary of the coroner shall be increased by the amount of the expense allowance provided by this section, and the expense allowance shall be repealed. Section 45-35-70 Compensation of commission chair; sheriff, and district commissioners. (a)(1) Beginning on June 1, 2007, the compensation of the Chair of the Houston County Commission shall be adjusted so that the monthly compensation paid to the holders of the offices shall be 85 percent of the monthly compensation which was being paid to the Houston County Judge of Probate on April 1, 2007. Section 45-23-70.01 Election of chair. (a) In Dale County, effective beginning with the general election in November 2012 and every four years thereafter, the Chair of the Dale County Commission shall be elected from the county at large. The first term of the chair after the general election in 2012 shall commence at the conclusion of the term of the judge of probate serving on February 23, 2010.
