Section 17-6-4 Designating and equipping voting places; county voting centers. (a) Except as may be provided further by local election laws or by the electronic vote counting statutes, the county governing bodies shall designate the places of holding elections in the precincts established hereunder, and, whenever the county has alphabetically divided the list of registered qualified voters of a precinct into groups, it shall designate not only the voting place but also the number of electronic voting machines at each voting place in the precinct, being sure that it designates an electronic voting machine for each group of qualified voters. Section 32-7C-36 Legislative intent, scope, and construction of article. (a) It is the intent of the Legislature to provide for uniformity of laws governing TNCs, TNC drivers, and TNC vehicles throughout the state, and to provide that TNCs, TNC drivers, and TNC vehicles be governed exclusively by state law, including Article 1 of this chapter, governing insurance requirements for TNCs and TNC drivers, and any rules adopted by the commission consistent with this article. Section 11-46-57 Absentee ballots - Casting and handling of ballots; duties and compensation of clerks, etc., generally; applicability of other laws. The provisions of Chapter 11 of Title 17 shall be applicable to the casting and handling of absentee ballots in municipal elections, and any amendments, extensions, or deletions from this chapter in the future shall likewise be applicable to municipal elections. The town clerk, city clerk, or other officer performing the duties of the clerk, as the case may be, shall have and perform the duties required by Chapter 11 of Title 17. For performing these duties, the municipal governing body may compensate the clerk, or other officer performing the duties of the clerk, in whatever manner and amount it deems appropriate.
