Section 45-30-210 Prohibition against use of artificial light from motor vehicle to locate wildlife. (a) In Franklin County, it shall be unlawful for any person or group of persons to willfully throw or cast, or cause to be thrown or cast, in a continuous and repeated manner, the rays of a spotlight, headlight, or other artificial light from any motor vehicle, with the aid of any motor vehicle, or while on foot, from any highway or road, or in any field, woodland, or forest, in an attempt or with intent to locate deer and other wildlife other than raccoons. This section shall not apply to farmers while checking livestock upon land which they own, lease, or rent, emergency vehicles, law enforcement vehicles, and public utility vehicles. (a) The Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), upon application from a person required for medical reasons to be shielded from the direct rays of the sun, may issue an exemption from this chapter for any motor vehicle owned by the person or in which the person is a habitual passenger. The application shall be supported by written statement of that fact from a physician licensed to practice medicine in this state.
