Section 21-6-3 Eligibility requirements. Services available under this chapter may be provided
to any person who: (1) Has made application therefor to the director of the Children's Rehabilitation
Service in the manner prescribed by him; (2) Has a severe disability that causes the person
to be homebound, such disability to be certified by an appropriate medical specialist; (3)
Has not sufficient income or resources, including family income or resources, insurance, workman's
compensation, etc., to meet the cost of home care services applied for, such insufficiency
to be determined by a rehabilitation and Children's Rehabilitation Service staff member; (4)
Is under the care of a family member who is a potential wage earner and will be relieved to
engage in employment outside the home, such circumstances to be certified by a vocational
rehabilitation counselor, and such counselor will be responsible for helping place such family

Section 34-33A-1 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following words have the following
meanings: (1) CERTIFICATE HOLDER. An individual who is listed on the State Fire Marshal's
permit as the responsible managing owner, partner, officer, or employee who is actively in
charge of the work of the certified fire alarm contractor meeting the requirements established
in Section 34-33A-5. (2) CERTIFIED FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR. A fire alarm contractor who has
qualified and received a permit from the State Fire Marshal, with an NICET Level III on staff.
(3) FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR. An individual, partnership, corporation, association, or joint
venture engaged in the business of installation, repair, alteration, addition, maintenance,

Section 25-9-17 Persons authorized to act as fire boss; temporary fire boss or mine foreman.
(a) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, no person shall act as fire boss in any
coal mine in this state unless he or she is in possession of a fire boss's certificate of
competency or a mine foreman's certificate of competency. (b) If it is impossible for an operator,
owner, or lessee to secure the immediate service of a certified mine foreman or fire boss,
he or she may employ a person, who holds a valid underground coal mine foreman certification
issued by another state, has worked in an underground mine in Alabama for at least 30 calendar

Section 32-6-253.1 Removable windshield placard; unauthorized use of parking places. (a) Any
person who submits to the Department of Veterans Affairs an application which includes satisfactory
proof that he or she meets the military service and award requirements to be issued a license
plate authorized by Section 32-6-250, shall be issued a removable windshield placard displaying
the appropriate military honor or veteran status. The application shall be on a form approved
by the Department of Veterans Affairs. There shall be no fee for the removable windshield
placard. (b) The removable windshield placard shall be prepared by the Department of Veterans
Affairs in cooperation with the Department of Revenue. (c) The removable windshield placard
shall be designed to hang from the front windshield rearview mirror when the vehicle is parked

Section 12-21-131 Interpreters for persons defective in speech and/or hearing - Qualified interpreter
provided in certain criminal and juvenile proceedings; requirements; fees. (a) Deaf person
means any person either totally deaf, or who has defective hearing, or who has both defective
