(a) Upon a petition being filed in the office of the judge of probate of the county, the judge of probate shall order an election to be held in the proposed district on the question, or questions, on which the petition requests an election. (a) The Legislature finds that the City of Hueytown has annexed a substantial portion of the Virginia Volunteer Fire District and desires to annex the remaining portion of the district pursuant to the procedures established in this section.
