Section 45-43-100.01 Compensation (a) In Lowndes County, upon resolution passed by a majority of the members of the county board of education, in lieu of any other compensation, salary, or expense allowance provided by law, each member of the county board of education shall be entitled to receive compensation in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000) per month. (b) The compensation provided by this section shall be paid in the same manner and from the same source as compensation and expense allowances for members of the Lowndes County Board of Education are currently paid and shall become effective on the first of the month following passage of the resolution by the board.
