emergency medical service squads, and volunteer firefighters association provided for in this
article shall not be considered as employees, servants, or agents of the county. The members

Section 45-16-242.23 Disposition of funds. (a) The proceeds from the tax hereby authorized,
less the actual cost of collection not to exceed five per centum, shall be paid by the State
Department of Revenue to the Coffee County Commission, on a monthly basis. Five percent of

hereby authorized to levy and collect a local county tax on the sale of fireworks in Cleburne
County in an amount not to exceed eight cents ($.08) per one dollar ($1) of gross sales. The
