Section 11-44B-1 Ordinance abandoning commission form of government and adopting mayor-council form. Within three months of January 29, 1985, the governing body of any Class 4 municipality with a commission form of government may by a majority vote of the members of that governing body adopt an ordinance abandoning the commission form of government and adopting a mayor-council form of government pursuant to the terms and conditions of this article. Any municipality desiring to abandon the commission form of government and adopt the form of government provided for herein, shall adopt an ordinance in substantially the following form: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION BOARD OF THE CITY OF _____ as follows: Section 1. Section 11-61A-7 Board of directors. (a) The authority shall be governed by a board of directors of seven members. The board shall be elected by the governing body of the municipality. Each member of the board shall be a qualified elector of the municipality. Section 11-45-4 Veto of ordinances and resolutions, and passage over veto generally. (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), if the mayor shall disapprove of any ordinance or resolution transmitted to him or her as provided in Section 11-45-3, within 10 days of the time of its passage by the council, he or she shall return the same to the clerk with his or her objections in writing, and the clerk shall make report thereof to the next regular meeting of the city council.
