Section 45-8-242 Levy of tax; advisory referendum; collection of tax; disposition of
funds. (a) This section shall only apply to Calhoun County. (b) As used in this section,
state sales and use tax means the tax imposed by the state sales and use tax statutes, including,
but not limited to, Sections 40-23-1, 40-23-2, 40-23-4, 40-23-60, 40-23-61, 40-23-62, and
40-23-63. (c)(1) The County Commission of Calhoun County may levy in the police jurisdictions
of the incorporated municipalities in the county and in the unincorporated areas of the county,
in addition to all other taxes a sales and use tax, parallel to the state sales and use tax,
of up to two percent of the gross sales, gross receipts, or the fair and reasonable market
value of tangible personal property, as appropriate, except where a different rate is provided

office of Chambers County a license division which shall issue all licenses issued through
the judge of probate's office, except marriage licenses. The county commission shall furnish

Section 45-44-246 Levy and collection of tax; disposition of funds. (a)(1) Upon adoption
of a resolution by the Macon County Commission of authorization, there is imposed on every
person, firm, or corporation that sells, stores, delivers, uses, or otherwise consumes tobacco

Section 40-20-2 Levy and amount of tax upon business of producing or severing oil or
gas from soil, etc., generally. (a)(1) There is hereby levied, to be collected hereafter,
as herein provided, annual privilege taxes upon every person engaging or continuing to engage
within the State of Alabama in the business of producing or severing oil or gas, as defined
herein, from the soil or the waters, or from beneath the soil or the waters, of the state

Section 40-7-72 Additional appropriations. There is hereby appropriated to the Department
of Revenue to be used in the program of ad valorem tax equalization provided for in this division,
and shall be paid over to the Department of Revenue for this purpose, any other law to the
contrary notwithstanding, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1972, $1,000,000, and for
the year ending September 30, 1973, $3,000,000, which amounts shall be the first claim against

The tax levied by this part shall be collected by the State Department of Revenue, the county,
or by contract to a business that collects sales tax at the same time and in the same manner
as state sales and use taxes are collected. On or prior to the date the tax is due, each person
subject to the tax shall file with the department a report in the form prescribed by the department.
The report shall set forth, with respect to all sales and business transactions that are required
to be used as a measure of the tax levied, a correct statement of the gross proceeds of all
the sales and gross receipts of all business transactions. The report shall also include items
