Section 45-45-231 Madison County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission employees. All personnel employed by the Madison County Work Release and Pretrial Release Commission pursuant to subsection (b) of Section 16, Act 488, 1978 Regular Session (Acts 1978, p. 530), who have been certified by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission, shall have the same authority and powers vested in deputy sheriffs and all other peace officers of the State of Alabama. (a) The Sheriff of Coffee County may expend funds accruing to the Sheriff's Work Release Fund for the betterment of law enforcement in Coffee County that is in the interest of the public and in the discharge of the sheriff's office as the sheriff sees fit.
