Section 41-9-450 Creation; composition; appointment and terms of office of members; officers; compensation and expenses of members; meetings generally; quorum. There shall be created and established as provided in this article a board to be designated and known as the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Board. The board shall be composed of 14 members, eleven of whom shall be appointed by the Governor of Alabama for terms of six years each. Of the first members appointed, two shall serve for two years, and three shall serve for four years as the Governor may direct. One board member shall be appointed for each congressional district in the state. One member of the board shall be the Chair or President of the Jefferson County Civic Center Board by virtue of the office. (a) The Alabama Department of Revenue shall distribute the net proceeds of the lodging tax as follows: (1) Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds of the lodging tax shall be distributed to the Florence/Lauderdale Tourism Board. (2) Twenty-five percent of the proceeds shall be distributed to the municipality where the lodging accommodation, room, hotel, motel, inn, bed and breakfast, or any other business is located including lodging located in the planning jurisdiction of the municipality.
