Section 45-37A-52.192 Status of officers and employees holding positions when the mayor-council form of government is adopted. Any person holding an office or position in the classified service of the city under any civil service or merit system applicable to the city when the mayor-council form of government shall be adopted shall be continued as such officer or employee in the classified service of the city under the mayor-council form of government and with the same status, rights, and privileges and subject to the same conditions under such applicable civil service or merit system as if the mayor-council form of government had not been adopted. Section 45-39A-13.02 Composition of civil service board. The civil service board shall consist of five members to be appointed by the members of the City Council of the City of Florence. In each year the city council shall appoint one person as the successor to the member of the civil service board whose term shall expire that year. Section 45-28A-42.03 Selection of board. Within 60 days of May 3, 1988, the civil service board for the City of Gadsden, Alabama, shall be composed of five members.
