Section 45-28A-42.24 Penalties. The violation of any of the provisions of this subpart by any person or persons is hereby declared to be a commission by such person or persons of a misdemeanor; and, unless otherwise provided herein, any person who commits such misdemeanor shall, on conviction, be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500), and may also be imprisoned in the county jail or sentenced to hard labor for the county wherein such misdemeanor is committed for not more than six months at the discretion of the court. Section 32-6-18 Penalties - Violations in general; disposition of funds. (a) Any person of whom a driver's license is required, who drives a motor vehicle on a public highway in this state without first having complied with this article or the rules and regulations promulgated hereunder shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars ($10) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100), to be fixed in the discretion of the judge trying the case. (a) A person commits the crime of criminal littering if he or she engages in any of the following acts: (1) Knowingly deposits in any manner litter on any public or private property or in any public or private waters without permission to do so.
