Section 45-20A-10.02 Board of education - Qualifications of members. A candidate for each place on the board of education shall be at least 21 years of age, a resident of the board of education district which he or she seeks to represent on the board for at least 90 consecutive days immediately preceding the deadline date for qualifying as a candidate, a high school graduate or holder of a GED certificate, and shall not be an employee of the board or have a record of conviction for any crime involving moral turpitude. The qualification fee for the initial election of the members of the board shall be fifty dollars ($50) for each candidate.
