Section 45-5-242 Levy of gasoline tax; use of proceeds. (a) The following words, when used
in this section shall have the meaning ascribed to them below, unless the context clearly
indicates a different meaning: (1) "Gasoline" means any type of gasoline, naptha,
or other liquid motor fuel, or any device or substitute therefor, commonly used in internal
combustion engines. (2) "Diesel fuel" means any type diesel oil, tractor fuel, gas
oil, distillate or liquefied gas, jet fuel, or any device or substitute therefor. (3) "Kerosene"
means the product known commercially as "kerosene oil." (b) In addition to all other
taxes and licenses, there is hereby levied upon every distributor, refiner, retail dealer,
or storer of gasoline, kerosene, or diesel fuel in Blount County, Alabama, an excise tax of
one cent ($.01) per gallon upon the selling, distributing, storing, or withdrawing from storage
in Blount County for any use, gasoline, kerosene, or diesel fuel as defined by this section;...

Section 45-6-140 Participation in Forestry Commission's fire protection program. (a) The county
governing body of Bullock County is authorized, when the need exists to provide protection
against forest fires in Bullock County by participating in the Alabama Forestry Commission's
fire protection program in the manner hereinafter specified. (b)(1) After the Bullock County
governing body has determined that such a need does exist in Bullock County, the county governing
body may, in the manner hereinafter specified, provide for a financial charge or tax to be
paid by the owners of forestlands located in Bullock County for the use of land for timber

Section 40-12-4 County license tax for school purposes - Authority to levy. (a) In order to
provide funds for public school purposes, the governing body of each of the several counties
in this state is hereby authorized by ordinance to levy and provide for the assessment and
collection of franchise, excise and privilege license taxes with respect to privileges or
receipts from privileges exercised in such county, which shall be in addition to any and all
other county taxes heretofore or hereafter authorized by law in such county. Such governing

Section 45-2-243 Designees; compensation; powers. (a) The Baldwin County Commission and any
municipality located in Baldwin County, if authorized by resolution or ordinance duly adopted

Section 22-27-3 Authority of local governing bodies as waste collections and disposal; household
exemptions; state regulatory program. (a) Generally. (1) The county commission or municipal

Section 45-2-244.075 Collections and enforcement. The tax authorized to be imposed by this
subpart shall constitute a debt due Baldwin County and may be collected as provided by law.
The tax, together with interest and penalties with respect thereto, shall constitute and be
secured by a lien upon the property of any person from whom the tax is due or who is required
to collect the tax. All of the provisions of the revenue laws of this state which apply to
the enforcement of liens for license taxes due to this state shall apply fully to the collection
of the tax herein levied, and the Baldwin County Commission, for the use and benefit of Baldwin
County, shall collect such tax and enforce this subpart and shall have and exercise for such

in Jefferson County may levy and collect an additional ad valorem tax at a rate not exceeding
15 mills per each dollar on the value of the taxable property within the city, the proceeds
