Section 9-10-35 Applications for construction permits; duties of Commissioner of Conservation
and Natural Resources as to granting of permits, etc.; enforcement of compliance with terms
and conditions of permits. (a) Before any construction work on any project may be undertaken
by any corporation created under the terms of this article, said corporation shall apply to
the Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources for a permit authorizing the proposed
development. The corporation shall furnish with the application for permit the following information:

not begin construction of a beach project until each of the following requirements have been
satisfied: (1) The governing body of the coastal municipality, after a public hearing held

Section 22-27-48.1 Approval process by local governing body for siting of new solid waste management
facility. (a) This section applies to the siting of any new solid waste management facility,
as defined in Section 22-27-2. (b) The governing body of a county or municipality shall make
a discretionary decision to approve or disapprove the siting of a new solid waste management
facility in accordance with this section. (c) Any person or entity seeking approval from the
governing body of a county or municipality for the siting of a new solid waste management
facility shall also submit to the governing body as part of its application, the application
