Section 23-1-22 Chief engineer - Office created; appointment, salary, expenses, and bond; applicability
of Merit System. (a) There is hereby created within the State Department of Transportation
the position of chief engineer, which shall be filled by appointment by the Director of Transportation,
with the approval of the Governor. The chief engineer shall be allowed traveling expenses
when traveling on business of the state pursuant to Article 2 of Chapter 7 of Title 36, all
to be paid from funds of the State Department of Transportation as salaries and expenses of
other State Department of Transportation employees are paid. The chief engineer shall give
bond for the faithful performance of his or her duties in an amount to be approved by the

Section 45-44-233 Law enforcement substation program. (a) The Sheriff of Macon County, Alabama,
is hereby authorized to make provisions for a law enforcement substation program throughout
the county to the extent he or she deems necessary for improved law enforcement efforts. In
order to foster and encourage the support of private citizens for such program, there is hereby
established the Sheriff's Department Substation Trust Fund to which private citizens may make

Section 45-45-232.03 Service of process fee. (a) In addition to all existing charges, fees,
judgments, and costs of court, the clerk, sheriff, or other appropriate court official in
the civil division of the district and circuit courts of Madison County shall increase the
fees by ten dollars ($10) for each subpoena served and by twenty dollars ($20) for all other

Section 14-6-47 Prisoner Feeding Fund; forms for records; disposition of funds. (a) The Prisoner
Feeding Fund is established in the office of each sheriff. Except as provided in subsection
(b), all monies received in the sheriff's office for food and services in preparing food,
serving food, and other services incident to the feeding of prisoners in the county jail pursuant
to this chapter, shall be deposited in the Prisoner Feeding Fund and shall be kept separate
from all other monies. Monies deposited in the Prisoner Feeding Fund shall only be used for
