Section 22-22-9 Powers and duties; enforcement of orders; permits; civil penalties for violations. (a) It shall be the duty of the commission to control pollution in the waters of the state, and it shall specifically have the following powers: (1) To study and investigate all problems concerned with the improvement and conservation of the waters of the state; (2) To conduct, independently and in cooperation with others, studies, investigation and research and to prepare, or in cooperation with others prepare, a program or programs, any or all of which shall pertain to the purity and conservation of the waters of the state or to the treatment and disposal of pollutants or other wastes, which studies, investigations, research and program or programs shall be intended to result in the reduction of pollution of the waters of the state according to the conditions and particular circumstances existing in the various communities throughout the state; and (3) To propose remedial measures...

Section 45-37-123.104 Withdrawal and refund of employee contributions. The following provisions generally govern a member's withdrawal and refund of employee contributions under the plan. Any member who fails to make application for the amount of his or her employee contributions pursuant to this section within five years after his or her separation from the service of the county, except as otherwise provided herein or otherwise determined by the pension board, shall be deemed to have forfeited and donated such employee contributions to the trust fund pursuant to Section 45-37-123.83. Section 38-9-6 Protective placement or other protective services. (a) An interested person may petition the court to order protective placement or other protective services for an adult in need of protective services. No protective placement or other protective services may be ordered unless there is a determination by the court that the person is unable to provide for his or her own protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation, sexual abuse, or emotional abuse. Upon a petition, setting forth the facts and name, age, sex, and residence of the person, the court of the circuit in which the person resides shall appoint a day, not more than 30 days from the filing of the petition, for the hearing on the petition.
