Section 45-27-244.31 Bond of tax collector. Before entering upon the additional duties imposed
by this subpart, the tax collector shall execute an additional bond in a sum prescribed by
the written recommendation to the tax collector from the Examiners of Public Accounts, giving
as surety thereon a bonding company authorized to do business in this state. The bond shall
be conditioned as other official bonds and shall be filed and recorded in the office of the
Clerk of the Circuit Court in Escambia County. A certified copy of the bond shall be furnished
by the tax collector to the Comptroller. Premiums on the bond of the tax collector shall be

Section 45-12-240.40 Motor vehicle licensing. (a) The Revenue Commissioner of Choctaw County
shall perform all duties relative to the assessment and collection of taxes on motor vehicles,
motor vehicle titles, and nonmotorized vehicles in Choctaw County which the judge of probate
is required under the law to perform. The judge of probate shall be relieved of all duties
and responsibilities relative to the assessment and collection of taxes on motor vehicles,
motor vehicle titles, and nonmotorized vehicles, and the revenue commissioner shall have all

Section 40-5-3 Bonds. Before assuming office the tax collector must execute a bond in duplicate
with a surety company authorized to do business in Alabama, payable to the State of Alabama,
in an amount to be determined for every county by the Comptroller. The amount of the bond
for each tax collector will be set at the beginning of his elected or appointed term for the
duration of such term. A new bond for an additional amount may be required whenever, in the
judgment of the Comptroller, the public welfare demands such action. The amount of the bond
will be determined by the use of the following table based on a percentage of the total annual

Section 45-13-120 Compensation; election; oath and bond; office space, equipment; chief clerk;
powers and duties; issuance of licenses; disposition of funds. (a)(1) Effective October 1,
1991, there is hereby created the office of commissioner of licenses. The salary of the commissioner
