Section 41-9-218 Definitions. As used in this article, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) APPLICABLE PERCENTAGE. Zero percent for the first credit allowance date, 8.33 percent for the next six credit allowance dates, for the total of 50 percent. (2) CREDIT ALLOWANCE DATE. With respect to any qualified equity investment, the date on which such investment is initially made and each of the six anniversary dates of that date thereafter. (3) DEPARTMENT. The Department of Commerce. (4) LONG-TERM DEBT SECURITY. Any debt instrument issued by a qualified community development entity, at par value or a premium, with an original maturity date of at least seven years from the date of its issuance, with no acceleration of repayment, amortization, or prepayment features prior to its original maturity date. Section 45-36-248 Levy of tax; collection and disposition of proceeds; violations. (a) This section shall apply only to Jackson County. (b) As used in this section, sales and use tax means a tax imposed by the state sales and use tax statutes and such other acts applicable to Jackson County, but not limited to, Sections 40-23-1, 40-23-2, 40-23-3, 40-23-4, 40-23-60, 40-23-61, 40-23-62, and Section 40-23-63. (a) The circuit and district court judges of the Thirty-sixth Judicial Circuit who are holding office on May 29, 1984, shall have six months from May 29, 1984, to make an election, in writing, with the county commission of the county comprising the circuit to come within this section.
