Section 45-40-72 Commission members; districts; chair. (a) The Lawrence County shall be composed of five , elected from single-member one through five, inclusive, by the qualified voters residing within each district. The five districts shall be apportioned as provided by law. Each commissioner shall reside in the district he or she represents at the time of qualifying for office and during his or her tenure. In Jefferson County, any county planning commission established under Act No. 344, H. 775, 1947 Regular Session (General Acts of 1947, p. 217) or Act No. 581, H. 1012, 1947 Regular Session (General Acts of 1947, p. 404) shall consist of 15 members; three designated and 12 appointed members.
