Section 45-49-232 Receipt of badge and service weapon upon retirement. (a)(1) Employees of
the Sheriff's Office of Mobile County who are classified as a deputy sheriff, corporal, sergeant,
lieutenant, or captain and who retire in good standing after at least 25 years of service
with the sheriff's office shall be awarded the service weapon and badge that the sheriff's
office requires for on duty law enforcement personnel at no cost to the retiring officer.
(2) Weapons awarded under this section shall be replaced in the county inventory by the Sheriff
of Mobile County by purchasing new weapons of the same brand and caliber with funds from the
Mobile County Sheriff's Office Pistol Permit Fund. (b) It shall be the duty of the Sheriff
of Mobile County to ensure that the awards and purchase for the replacement weapon are made

Section 36-21-8 Badge and pistol as part of retirement benefits for certain law enforcement
officers and investigators. Any person who, at the time of retirement, is in good standing
and employed by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Alcoholic Beverage
Control Board, the State Forestry Commission, the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center,
the Public Service Commission, campus police at a state institution, or any other state agency
which requires its officers to be Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission certified
as a law enforcement officer or investigator, or by the Department of Public Safety as a State

Section 45-10-232 Fee; Sheriff's Law Enforcement Fund. (a) In Cherokee County, the fee for
issuance of a permit to carry a pistol in a vehicle or concealed on or about the person as
provided in Section 13A-11-75, shall be ten dollars ($10) for an individual age 65 and over

Section 45-44-233 Law enforcement substation program. (a) The Sheriff of Macon County, Alabama,
is hereby authorized to make provisions for a law enforcement substation program throughout
the county to the extent he or she deems necessary for improved law enforcement efforts. In
order to foster and encourage the support of private citizens for such program, there is hereby
established the Sheriff's Department Substation Trust Fund to which private citizens may make
