of this chapter. (9) PERSON. Unless limited to a natural person by the context in which it
is used, any person, including, without limitation, a private firm, a private association,

installed as part of any building, structure, or other facility regardless of the fact that
the anticipated useful lives of such items may be less than 25 years as of the date of acquisition
or construction of the building, structure, or other facility in which they may be installed.

Section 11-3A-2 Powers for public welfare, health, and safety; authorization; scope. (a) Except
where otherwise specifically prohibited or provided for either heretofore or hereafter by
general law or the constitution of this state and subject to the procedures and limitations

Section 22-27-48.1 Approval process by local governing body for siting of new solid waste management
facility. (a) This section applies to the siting of any new solid waste management facility,
as defined in Section 22-27-2. (b) The governing body of a county or municipality shall make
a discretionary decision to approve or disapprove the siting of a new solid waste management
facility in accordance with this section. (c) Any person or entity seeking approval from the
governing body of a county or municipality for the siting of a new solid waste management
facility shall also submit to the governing body as part of its application, the application
