Section 45-37A-351 Special school district tax. The following words and phrases used in this section and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of a clear implication herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) AMENDMENT 316. Section 45-33-241 Levy of tax. Pursuant to subsection (f) of Amendment No. 373 to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, the Hale County Commission may levy, in addition to any other tax, an ad valorem tax in the amount of 3 mills on each dollar of taxable property in the county. The revenue from the additional tax shall be paid to the county general fund to be used exclusively for payment of the cost of the planning, construction, and equipping of a new county jail, or for the payment of the principal of and interest on any bonds, warrants, or other obligations issued by or on behalf of the county to finance the costs of a new jail, as well as the expenses of issuance of any bonds, warrants, or other obligations. Section 45-8-22 Special licenses; additional taxes; maintenance of records. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation, other than the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, to sell at retail in Calhoun County any spirituous or vinous liquors without first obtaining a special license from the judge of probate that shall be in addition to all other licenses required by law. Section 45-36-246 Levy and collection of tax. (a) There is levied from each producer of coal in Jackson County a privilege or license tax to be known as a severance tax. The rate of the tax shall be twenty cents ($.20) per ton of coal severed.
