Section 45-24-20.02 Levy of tax; disposition of funds; collection; records. (a) This
section shall only apply to Dallas County. (b) For purposes of this section,
the term liquor shall have the same meaning as ascribed to the term in subdivision (15) of
Section 28-3-1. (c)(1) Notwithstanding any provision of law and pursuant to Section
104 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, there is imposed, in addition to all other taxes,
including, but not limited to, municipal gross receipts license taxes, a five percent sales
tax on liquor sold by entities licensed by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. (2) The proceeds
of all sales that are presently exempt under the state sales and use tax statutes are exempt

Section 45-8A-116 Regulation of sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday. (a) This section
applies only in the City of Oxford in Calhoun County, Cleburne County, and Talladega County.
(b) The sale of alcoholic beverages on Sundays may be authorized by the city council within
the corporate limits of the City of Oxford after approval by a referendum as provided in this
section. If the Sunday sale of alcoholic beverages is approved by a referendum, the
city council of the city, by ordinance, may permit the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages

Section 28-2-1 Procedure for elections to determine classification of counties as wet
or dry counties; laws applicable in dry counties. (a) In every county where a majority of
the electors voting in an election, called by the Governor to determine whether Chapter 3

number of voters voting in the last general election of the municipality having a population
of not less than 1,300 inhabitants nor more than 1,500 inhabitants being filed with the city
or town clerk or governing body of the municipality, the governing body shall call a municipal
option election for the municipality to determine the sentiment of the people as to whether
