Section 45-44-84.47 Special recording fee - Real property, personal property, and UCC instruments.
Effective immediately after July 1, 1997, a special recording and filing fee of five dollars
($5) shall be paid to and collected by the judge of probate, with respect to each real property
instrument, each personal property instrument, and each UCC statement that may be filed for
record in the office of the judge of probate and with respect to other instruments and documents
in the probate office, at the discretion of the judge of probate. On and after July 1, 1997,
no instrument or document shall be received for record in the office of the judge of probate

Section 45-49-85 Indexing system. (a) The following words, phrases, and terms including the
plural of any thereof, whenever used in this section, shall have the following respective
meanings: (1) CODE. The Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended. (2) COMPUTERIZED METHODS OF INDEXING.
The use of computer hardware and software to alphabetize, store, assemble, transmit electronically,

Section 45-30-82.21 Definitions. The following words and phrases, including the plural of any
thereof, whenever used in this subpart, shall have the following respective meanings: (1)
GENERAL PROPERTY INSTRUMENT. A real property instrument that affects the title to personal
property as well as real property. (2) IMPROVED RECORDING SYSTEM. A system of recording, archiving,
