Section 45-19-82.04 Fees for remote access of records. (a) The Judge of Probate of Coosa County may charge and collect fees up to one dollar fifty cents ($1.50) or the equivalent of the regularly established photocopy fees, whichever is greater, for the remote access of records maintained in the office of the judge of probate. (b) Fees collected pursuant to this section shall be deposited into a special fund of the judge of probate entitled the Probate Recording Fund. (c) Fees from the fund may be disbursed at the discretion of the judge of probate for records retention and archiving, records reconstruction, records preservation, records maintenance, including, but not limited to, scanning, photocopying, purchasing, maintaining, and operating recording equipment, and for the protection of records from environmental decay and damage. Section 45-19-82.23 Assessment and collection of fees; disposition of funds. Except as provided in this subpart, the judge of probate may charge and collect the same fees that are provided for by law. For the performance of duties relative to the recording of the transfer of the ownership of motor vehicles as prescribed in this code, the judge of probate shall charge and collect an additional fee of five dollars ($5). (a) The Judge of Probate of Cullman County, or the authorized agent of the judge of probate, may install vending machines and collect money from the vending machines and charge and collect fees for copying documents in his or her office. (b) The judge of probate shall establish and maintain a special probate fund in a bank located in Cullman County.
