Section 45-45-82.28 Library fees. For the support and maintenance of the Madison County Law Library established under this subpart a library fee of four dollars ($4) shall be paid in all criminal causes and cases of whatever nature and a library fee of two dollars ($2) shall be paid in all civil causes and cases of whatever nature in the district and circuit courts of Madison County wherein this law is in effect, to be collected as other court costs are collected and paid at the same time as docket or filing fees are paid. Section 45-45-82 Child protection board and fund. (a) In order to provide for the protection and welfare of children in Madison County who are alleged to be or have been found by the juvenile court of the county to be abused or neglected or otherwise dependent as defined by Section 12-15-102, there is levied and imposed a court cost of four dollars ($4), in all cases filed in the district court of the county, which shall be in addition to all other costs previously imposed. (b) The service fee imposed in this section shall be assessed against a defendant upon conviction. Section 45-23-82.07 Costs and fees. (a) An applicant may be assessed a fee when the applicant is approved for the program. The amount of the assessment for participation in the program shall be in addition to any court costs and assessments for victims of drug, alcohol, or anger management treatment required by law, and are in addition to costs of supervision, treatment, and restitution for which the person may be responsible. An applicant may not be denied access into the pretrial diversion program based solely on his or her inability to pay.
